The Coffee Club , Subang Parade

Coffee cafes have noticeably mushroomed rapidly to date. Coffee drinking has transformed from leisure to a culture where people crave over/ hunt for new coffee outlets in town. We tend to get excited when we know of a new coffee site.

New talk of the town would be the two-storey coffee cafe in Subang Parade - The Coffee Club. The blog written by Sean (http://eatdrinkkl.blogspot.com/2014/06/the-coffee-club-australia-subang-parade.html) is sooo tempting! that friend & I can't wait to just rush over to have our try on experiencing the place, food & beverages. One fine day, we decided to just have our 'coffee talk' at this new love of town despite the Friday jam.

The look toned down at night. Consistently full house, definitely new love of the town.

The beef bacon sandwich is very tasteful. The sauce is a mixture of taste of white creamy sweet & sourish sauce. Served hot, nothing beats the taste of food freshly served!
I ordered Marshmallow icy cold milk, served in a frosty parfait glass finished with a scoop of premium ice-cream, a mountain of whipped cream and topped off with sprinkles of chocolate powder. They blended it with marshmallow too. I like it and never had something similar like this else where. Could be a selling point of this place.
The iced coffee is similar with Marshmallow - ice cream, whipped cream. For coffee lovers, it might be too sweet/ creamy/ ice-cream-ish for them.
Verdict:
A tad expensive for most of the items on menu compared to other places, but the ambience & environment is comfortable. Food & drink taste all right. Not too extravagant, neither dull. As for services - we tend to be ignored, possibly due to blind spots around the cafe - the interior/ cafe settings.

Breakfast at Plan B

I'm a breakfast kind-of person. I LOVE breakfasts! I'm always excited the night before whenever I think of breakfast! I've always heard of Plan B's breakfast set, pretty much awesome commentaries. So I thought I should really give it a go, one fine day. So happen that I get to just visit this place for breakfast! The taste still lingers in my mind now ... even as I'm typing this, I feel like having 'em for my breakfast tmr !

Wild Mushroom Soup @ RM 13  per bowl
Each spoonful is aromatic & enriched with heavy, creamy, tasteful assorted mushrooms. It is so filling & satisfying .. Each sip makes you want for another!

Plan B Breakfast Platter @ RM 26
It comes with two eggs any style (went for scrambled egg), toast, grilled turkey bacon, hash brown, smoked chicken sausage, baked beans, sauteed mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. Plus fresh orange juice and coffee/tea. The whole platter was quite big and not to mention very filling. Shared it with Jann but couldn't finish it as the soup we ordered is quite filling too!

Thought a "Photo-ception" photo is pretty cool, so I snapped this when we're obviously doing Asiansatwork! We upgraded the orange juice to a regular size. I love the orange juice so much because it is freshly blended and you could still taste the pulp and its not all-that-sweet. I love it when they preserve food or drinks near to its original taste ;)

It was a great breakfast-getaway in Plan B! Will def. come again for their breakfast ;)

Valentine's Day at Big Mugz Bar & Bistro

The initial plan was to chillax at Roof Garden Lounge on this very day enjoying Tawau's scenic view. I was pretty eager because I've never been to the newly opened Roof Garden. Not to my surprise, the place is fully booked though we called few day earlier to make a reservation. Our last resort to just chill & stay at Big Mugz Bar & Bistro.

Basically, if you stay in Tawau or you are to know Tawaurians' culture, 'yum-cha' 饮茶(Cantonese) is the MAIN or the BIG THING here. So, Big Mugz is just another place for you to chillax, a place with more crowd, serve alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages, better ambience, a place where 'night-lives' come to. Not to miss, a place with finger food, Italian food, loud music, & almost Whole of Tawau would come here on Wed/Fri/Sat nights.

I still rmbr there wasn't roof & those lighting set up.
Adding this, added more 'oomp' to this place

Chinese Lantern added to usher the Chinese New Year!

Decided to just chill with people I feel comfortable with: Lisa, Eni, Eni's husband, Shan Yie. It was my 1st time meeting Eni & her husband. They're very friendly people. You know how Tawau people are friendly :D I met Mumu Ngui & his gf, Kym too! Just didn't approach to take a pic coz I don't wanna spoil their Valentine Night x)

Curry Fish Ball!
Pretty addictive!

I know it looked like crap coz its over-exposed. But I think the taste is all right.

Here are the people who spend their Valentine's Night together :D

Overall, I think its a cool place to chill-out. You can't find another kind of place like this in Tawau unless you like Roof Garden Lounge. This place reminds me a lot of Upperstar in Kota Kinabalu. Food wise is not too over the top, I'm not all that picky coming to food. Beverages wise, I think most of them are quite diluted (alcoholic/ non-alcoholic).
