Clinical Incident

There was an incident yesterday at work. Well, not quite yesterday but I just came to know the whole story yesterday. It occur that we're so used to our normal working pattern that we tend to assume/ overlook certain minute details. I mean you always have a "if I would, or if I knew, ..." incident. Truth is, you can't change the fact that your clinical decision making is not critical at that point of time and your judgement actually led/ endangered your patient to a greater risk.

I don't know why am I so caught up with this particular incident though its actually not my incident but it is relate-able and I feel deeply about this. I'm sad and at the same time I feel for my colleague, I could've done better.

Life IS  a journey, a journey of learning, never ending learning.

Life as a physiotherapist in TAGS Physio & Rehab Specialists

Almost a month ago I was transferred back to the HQ. Partly my personal request, secondary to coincident (mind you, this is just my assumption). I actually don't know the (real) main reason for the transfer.

Cheras is as usual - busy (photo taken about 6-7pm). Yes we work around d the clock.

TPR had their facelift. We now have a glass door that seperates the dept other department. This marks our "territory" in a way HAHA

Here's one of the "Open Concept" treatment section. We have our DTS & modalities at other section.

Here's one of the consultation room for those who're on duty to consult. It's a daily duty  roster anyway. Here, we practise both - direct access, and referral. We do receive walk in patients as well and we treat any cases - no longer just spine and joint.

Here's our radiography dept- we have CT scan, dexa bone scan, MRI, X-Ray. Mind you I've received a lot of patients from other hosp during my 1 year in Hosp Sungai Long I still find the best imaging comes from our TAGS HQ! 😍

Honestly, even after working for a year plus, I still find working here stressful. It actually demands a lot from you in terms of theoretical basics & your physical strength. Like I said, we work round da' clock, it's either 8am-5pm/ 9am-6pm/ 10am-7pm and  once a week full shift 8am-7pm, with compulsory Saturday 8am-6pm.

To be honest it's really a good place to learn and to optimise your capacity. Here our performances are well-monitored as prime treatment is the only language we speak. No one (physios I mean) comes in here an Elite himself/ herself. But I really see good physios here and not-known yet. I've been across Malaysia to difference places for my clinical attachment and the physiotherapists here are actually very different and I dare to say, is comparable to other countries' practice. In terms of treatment, we are indeed ahead of others. I am grateful to be part of this, the change, and the better me.

21/08/15 | My Life So Far

At this point of time, I'm writing this as we still have few months to go for this year. Work hasn't been easy, life hasn't either through this year. It's packed and I tried to grab as much time for myself and of course to enjoy every single bit of it.

I work 6 days a week - 4 weekdays, compulsory Saturday, and Sunday teaching swimming. I only have about 4 days rest in a month.

Working here without family is very lonely. Now that I've moved even further things get tougher. Well I do occasionally have friends to meet but it still is lonesome. At times I do catch up with friends through phone. Been good old years being naive and all that as a kid. Reminiscing those memories bring smile to my face. I haven't been smiling like a kid thinking about the past for a while.

I'm glad and thankful for the company I have so far.
Thank YOU, for forking out extra hours at time to chat the night away until we get in bed.
Missing you.

Food Foundry @ Seksyen 17, PJ

I last came to this place was 1-2 years ago when I was studying around here. This place is known for it's mille crepe as we used to not have Nadeje here. Because of the popular mille crepe cake, you can almost find mille crepe in all the cafes you visit nowadays. However, there aren't many good ones.

I thought the name is persistent with the quality of food they cater. The font they used is neat indeed.
I decided to give this place a go when a friend (new friend from hometown) visit here and asking me to introduce good food & dessert around PJ. I'm usually in PJ on Sunday because I teach swimming at EC Swim. And I was craving for a hearty meal - something simple and western. So this place pops up on my mind :)

Food Foundry Chicken Chop - paired with mashed potato & mix veges
(carrot, cucumber, brinjal, melon)

Chicken Parmigiana paired with mashed potato & mix veges
(healthier sides alternatives than occasional fries)

Left: Salted Caramel mille crepe; Right: Earl Grey Lavender mille crepe

I would say their choice of food paired with mashed/ baked potato and their minimally seasoned mix veges is a better alternative than occasional deep fried fries. The chicken chop is juicy & tasteful. Simple food is always good, and the best food always comes from fresh food.

08 May | Reality checks - Dooms Day

Today might be one of my darkest day on earth. At least it is ongoingly haunting me. As daunting as it seems, it is as eerie as it sounded.

Lately I had an encounter of probably a financial scam. And I am at lost now as to what I can do to rip off my mistakes or my lack of cautiousness. I am indeed terrified, and also upset plus extremely frustrated at myself for not being more cautious & aware.

I read this online, and I can very well relate to it.
“It isn’t because people are stupid or lack common sense. But we, as human beings, are all vulnerable to being deceived because people can misplace their trust if manipulated in certain ways. The social engineer anticipates suspicion and resistance, and he’s always prepared to turn distrust into trust. A good social engineer plans his attack like a chess game, anticipating the questions his target might ask so he can be ready with the proper answers. One of his common techniques involves building a sense of trust on the part of his victim. How does a con man make you trust him? Trust me, he can.”

But what I need to face is that, what is done is done. And I can only lodge a report, notify the banks and also to deal with this calmly by speaking to professionals.

I may or may not update it soon ..
